Charn of Rhu 20160715classics102Cowes Classics Week is back with a new sponsor Charles Stanley Direct who will be sponsoring the event for the first time. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Charles Stanley Direct Cowes Classics Week 17-21 July is expecting up to 180 yachts to attend the event for some spectacular Solent racing.

The 2017 Notice of Race is available on this website with the early bird booking discount available until 30 June 2017.

“It contains all the spectacle of a major international event, with friendly but serious competition on dedicated race courses, first class race management, as well as excellent socials.” Said Doug Harckham from the Daring Class.

The Royal London Yacht Club will be welcoming many classic classes, some of which have competed since 2008. This first decade has seen the event grow into one of the most iconic on the yachting calendar.

"Cowes Classics gets better and better every year. The RLYC has successfully captured the family atmosphere that made the fifties and sixties regattas; Cowes Week; Clyde Fortnight, and Menai Straits fortnight so great." Said Brian Corbett from Old Gaffers Association.

There is a full and varied social programme each evening involving the yacht clubs of Cowes. Tea and homemade cakes are provided at the Royal London Yacht Club after racing each day.

Charles Stanley Direct Cowes Classics Week 17 – 21 July, is grateful to supporting sponsors Haines Boatyard, Harken, Winkworth, Classic Boat magazine, Cowes Harbour Commission, Kendalls Fine Art and Red Funnel, and is delighted to welcomes Henri Lloyd for the first time.

This year’s chosen charity for the event is Sea Cadets Cowes who will be active throughout the week.
